i've said this before. i don't believe that any photographer should be allowed to shoot nudes of other people and post them on the interwebs if he is not willing to put himself in the exact same position.

i've done a few of these. this one is ok, not my best. but just re-establishing my status

Have to say my friend an impressive shot all around, sadly I'm not a photographer
but still I have a love for the human body all around. Thank you for being willing to bare all as your models
often seem to do for you. Keep up the excellent work.
hugestones Featured By Owner Jul 17, 2013
its very brave and bold of you especially since you are on the small side and really skinny, most men would be humiliated if the world knew, but here you are, brave and bold, saying to all the models who you work with, if I can show the world my tiny manhood proud and unafraid then you too can show the world the beauty you have to offer.
hugestones Featured By Owner Jul 17, 2013
Ok this was stupid for me to post, sorry, I am a victim of childhood sexual abuse where the male who victimized me for over a year when I was 7 emphatically humiliated me about my tiny little penis and when I see an opportunity to inflict the same punishment I pounce, fuck, I'm sorry.  I've never taken advantage of anyone but I have to stop giving into the devil that sits in the deep dark corners of my brain.  I am sorry Scott, you really aren't small I was just being a fucking asshole trying to appease my broken unconscious.
LithiumDreamsArt Featured By Owner May 24, 2013
Scott i can totally agree with your statement, you should be willing to do the same thing you ask your models to do....I have a shot of myself in my famous tub nude as well, not showing that much but I was there...maybe I should post it on DA

I love the shadow on your leg there. The whole look here reminds me a bit of Val Kilmer in The Saint. Him as the Poet I believe it was. :)

Oh Scott, i love the attitude on your face in this one! Also, i agree completely with you! If you are going to ask others to do it, you should have the balls (hehe) to do it yourself :)
micrthongbikinibabe Featured By Owner Feb 1, 2012  Professional Artist
Hi Scott,

I like your attitude when it comes to the human body and photography. It's funny in the USA we have no problem depicting murder, killing, war, rape etc. on TV all the time but somehow some boobs, vagina, penis or ass is big taboo.

Great body and nice penis BTW.

oh my god you are HOT. Ironically I'm listening to pretty woman.
j2portraits Featured By Owner Jan 31, 2012  Professional Photographer
Mixed emotions and theory on the same concept.. Would I put myself into the exact same position as any of my models... You bet ya! Would anyone find that out come desirable?? Not till I forget where McDonalds is and figure out how to put the gym in the gps...
Sixela-Midory077 Featured By Owner Jan 30, 2012  Student Photographer
I don't really like the picture that much but I really respect your position and I agree with you 100%, no artist should ask a model to do something that he or she isn't prepared to do. My hat's off to you mate, keep up the good work
TTwiggs Featured By Owner Jan 30, 2012
I don't agree with you - I am pretty sure that people don't to see very unperfect bodys of gays behind the camera ;-)
But this picture is more than OK - respect!
Janid Featured By Owner Jan 30, 2012  Hobbyist Photographer
Is this the first time you insert a picture of yourself? I would like to see more such beautiful shots of you. Or other male models?
Janid Featured By Owner Jan 30, 2012  Hobbyist Photographer
Very nice shot. I like the expression on your face and the pose. The light looks perfect to me.
agxposed Featured By Owner Jan 30, 2012  Hobbyist Photographer
The shadows say quite a bit here. Thank you for doing this. =) I'm pretty curious about what other nude photographers think with regards to their own self-portrait now.
ArtographybyJMatson Featured By Owner Jan 29, 2012  Professional Photographer
I modeled for another photographer once in this manner. No offense but that's an easy statement to make if you look like this.
ArtographybyJMatson Featured By Owner Jan 29, 2012  Professional Photographer
That being said it is a nice shot
IfLooksCouldKill Featured By Owner Jan 28, 2012

Superb. I agree and right on.:)
The first step to being a nude photographer is being a nude photographer. ;)
1492ANDIBLAIR Featured By Owner Jan 26, 2012  Professional Digital Artist
I agree. If you are asking someone to pose nude for you, then you should show them that you are comfortable with being naked yourself...
Get it all out in the open, that's what I say.
Tiberius47 Featured By Owner Jan 25, 2012  Hobbyist Photographer
That's a good philosophy, but it doesn't quite work when your body is as pale and flabby as mine... :p

Great lighting.
dietcocaine Featured By Owner Jan 26, 2012   Writer
Nude photography isn't necessarily about having a beautiful body.
It's about what you do with it.
TheStu Featured By Owner Jan 26, 2012  Hobbyist Traditional Artist
Agreed. Overall I would say I have a terrible body. But I'd be willing to try something artistic with it, for sure. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I think its a great way to learn something about yourself from a unique perspective.
dietcocaine Featured By Owner Jan 27, 2012   Writer
It most definitely is.
RadActPhoto Featured By Owner Jan 26, 2012  Professional Photographer
Pale and flabby has nothing to do with it. (I rule the world of pale and flabby)
Its about expressing yourself by exposing the real you... figuratively and metaphorically.

Even if it is never published, or seen by anyone else, everyone should have at lest one nude photo of themselves. ;)

Just my thoughts on it.
Matttowler Featured By Owner Jan 25, 2012  Professional General Artist
I've heard the same advice from photographers who do S & M shoots, heh.
suiseiusagi Featured By Owner Jan 25, 2012
That's a very good point, and I'm not sure I've heard another photographer make it/ do it... but what are those lines around your clavicle (about where a t-shirt would lay) and under your pecks? And why does the skin of your pecks look different from the lower body?
BlueDraken Featured By Owner Nov 14, 2012
"I'm not sure I've heard another photographer do it."

*raises a hand* I have in the past but it was more for traditional art reference type stuff (for myself and other artists, getting the right pose and angle can be a pain sometimes) than for photography. So maybe thats a little different.

The "don't ask others to do something that you wont do yourself" is a good philosophy and frame of mind to have. That goes for everything.
arieneforeveryoung Featured By Owner Feb 5, 2012   Photographer
The lines around his clavicle and pecks are bend lines say if scott spends time bending down then that is what that line around the peck is and you are probably right tshirt line down below. Also his skin on the lower arm looks a bit different because the lighting is different, where the skin is smoother there was more lighting centered on his body and soft shadows which give that smooth skin appearance, where there is a bit rougher skin there is more harsher lighting not so shadowed or diffused by a reflector. Diffused reflector lighting gives smooth skin, lighting that is not covered by reflector makes skin not as smooth or soft. Hope that answers your questions.

Blinking in surprise...and delight. A lion's courage is what you have and the effort made is well worth it!
SuneAdura-AE Featured By Owner Jan 25, 2012  Hobbyist Artist
its very brave and bold of you. It lets models know that you are just as real and open as they are. Not to mention you are a very good looking man, this is very tasteful and very nice shot!
