This is an amazing shot. The sun coming in through the window casting just the right amount of light on the model...very nice.
The scene...minimalistic. What you see is what you get. Though the model is very shapely it's the parts that make the whole and as the composition goes it causes me to pause and ponder the questions...why suicide? why now?
Dressed provocatively...why does she decide death over whatever other plans she may have had? This sends a more resonating message than had you had her in the same pose wearing a terry cloth robe or street clothes.
You don't have to comment here, you know, you can look away, set you settings so, that you don't have to see material stuff?
If somebody asks you about one of your deviations if it is art? What would you say?
This is art if you like it or not, there are worse things you could make a fuzz about. And thereby I think you have a lack of respect, to attack another deviant, who has gained more respect over the years, than you will ever get if you be so disrespectful to others. Leave another deviants art alone. You wouldn't like it if people judge your art disrespectfully too.
He doesn't have to explain anything to you, he doesn't owe you anything.
No offence, but I don't really care what you think.
You actually think I care what other people think about my artwork? Have you looked in my gallery? It's full of untalented shit, sure some friends say it's nice, but that's as far as it will go.
If someone where to ask that question on my pieces? Here is my response: "Because it simply is, in the right minds. I think it's fucking shit though."
And I'm not being disrespectful at all. Did I say anything derogative towards the artist/model/work itself? No I did not? I asked "why?" a simple question is all. Furthermore I did not say I dislike it in anyway what so ever.
I also like how you went childish and said he's earned more respect then I ever will. Do you know me? No, you don't. But I do have enough respect as it is, outside and inside of DA, but I fail to see how this makes any of use the better person.
I know I don't have to comment here but I felt like it,just once, on something like that and never again.
More importantly you're taking a simple question the wrong way. To a refer it as an "attack" on another Deviant is being slightly dramatic. He answered my question but I never understood it and, obviously, I won't be hearing from him again.
Then why bother us if you don't believe in your own art?
Yes you were disrespectful, by not asking why, but asking: "And this is art, why...?"
If you even can't stand behind your own art, be proud of it. Why ask another deviant this kind of question?
Ask it to someone wo deserves it to be asked. So guy or girl showing his private parts. Now that's not art.
Maybe I did take it the wrong way, but artists like Scott have millions of people telling him to go away with pornography, because of their religions or stupid moral standards. An oppinion is ok, but to attack someone because of it not. Lots of people think of this shot alone, that it's porn and not artistic nudity. Well hence their dirty minds that they think otherwise.
I think you should be proud of your art, no matter what you make. Here you can learn to enhance it to greater levels. But never forget where your roots have started. And please never ask this kind of questions to people who have enough troubles defending their art as it is. That's why people react, one to kick them down, other to support like myself.
