This is absolutely stunning. The tone is soft, and suits the model perfectly, and the simple backdrop just--this is perfect. I really can't put it any other way.

I think this would be a stronger image if the background was flat without wrinkles

really, i think the fact that she looks like she's in bed with the snake adds a whole new element, but then what would i know anyway, i just made it.

if you're going to post something online, you're going to get criticism. you don't have to agree with it. to me the background distracts. take it or leave it.

and i'm happy to take the criticism, but i am also allowed to disagree with you when i think you're wrong. i don't think a plain white background would be better at all, i think it would be a completely different image than what i would try to accomplish.

this, on the other hand, is exactly what i was going for.

if you're not happy with it, please feel free to ignore it or go make better.

stating that I feel it would be a stronger image if the background was different is a statement that you can choose to take or not. The fact is I dont believe for a second it was intentional, if you wanted it to seem like a bed you'd have photographed her on a bed. You must not be used to critique as it appears Ive hurt your ego with mine. The crumpled sheet is distracting in it's shadows and shapes, unbalanced in exposure, and greatly takes the focus away from the model. If you did indeed want there to be a certain texture to the background ironing the sheet wouldnt have hurt and then placing thoughtful wrinkles would have been more appropriate.

I suggest you learn to take critique and not argue with people. You do not have to defend your artistic choices but be prepared to encounter people who will critique your work. You're using an art site here. The number one goal of this site is to further one's capabilities. If you do not wish to receive critique on your technique then disable your comments or switch to a site like modelmayhem instead.

If you disagree with my critique then that is all that need be said. Petty arguing does nothing but make you look like someone who's just doing this to get good compliments and not further himself as an artist.

I stand by my comment. I feel this image would be much stronger without that background. If you were going for a bed like feel I feel there would have been better ways to get that across that would have been less distracting. You can completely ignore that comment (you do know you can hide my comment if it bothers you so much?) or reflect on it and consider it for your next shoot. But arguing defensively does nothing but make you look bad.

not to continue the argument, (because obviously no one can possibly disagree with you without starting a retard flame war), but it was photographed on a bed. (i guess you've just never seen one without Dora the Explorer sheets, sorry for the confusion there).

look princess, i really don't want to fight with you, i never did, i was just trying to have a conversation from the jump off.

i'm sure you can't learn anything from me because obviously what i do is nothing but fodder for your insight, and that's cool. i wish i had my life so figured out at 24 years old that i thought i could tear into someone like me now with the venom you seem so eager to spit.

here's hoping that things will forever be so easy for you.

you go on and have a really nice day. take care of yourself.
